Damn, how these machines replace men.
Today red bus got its new Coffee vending machine which signals the end of the chai walla. I dont know what he'll do, may be find another place to sell his chai, but i'll definitely miss the energetic good morning and good afternoon he greeted everyone with and the smile he gave back ones you replied to him.
Now, his personal touch will be gone forever.

ReplyDeleteIs it the machines outside or the machines inside which is the problem? I guess the sad part is not the chaiwala's external absence but a forcible exodus from within. It is now the machine within which wants a machine outside and a human within some of us feels the sadness.
